SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team traveled to Swarthmore Saturday afternoon, falling 16-5 to the Garnet. The Knights drop to 2-3, while the Garnet improve to 3-2.
How It Happened: The Garnet jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the contest's first five minutes before freshman
Jay Horner notched his eighth goal of the season with 6:08 to go in the first quarter to get the Knights on the board. The hosts used a six-goal second quarter to pull away, taking a 10-3 lead to the break, before outscoring Arcadia 6-2 in the second half.

Kenny Grant's three points led the way for the Knights' offense as the junior netted two goals and handed out an assist. Horner, senior

Joe Stanton were the other goal scorers for AU. Sophomore
Matt Mignogna handed out a pair of helpers on the day.
Swarthmore Leaders: Nathan Relich registered a team-high six points on four goals and two assists followed by Dylan Rittenhouse with three goals and two assists. Cam Marsh handed out a team-leading four assists.

A.J. Beck took the loss allowing 14 goals and making nine saves in three quarters of work, freshman
Danny Lipkin played one quarter allowing two goals and making four saves. Cole Fox earned the win for the Garnet allowing four goals and making a dozen saves in 54:21 of work.
By the Numbers: The teams were nearly identical in shot attempts with Swarthmore holding a slim 38-35 advantage, however Arcadia fired 18 shots on target compared to 29 by the hosts. The Scarlet and Grey won the turnover battle forcing the Garnet into 16, while only committing 11. The Knights were unable to convert on five extra man opportunities, while the Garnet went 1-3 in man up situations.
Up Next: The Knights return home on Wednesday to host Delaware Valley in the Battle of the Bucks-Mont Hammer. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
