GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team fell in a MAC Commonwealth matchup against the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen, 13-8 on Saturday afternoon at Easton Field. The Dutchmen moved to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while the Knights fell to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Dutchmen's Nick Mowry was able to get a goal 15 seconds into the game, before Arcadia senior Chris Jacovino tied things up two minutes later. To end the first period, Lebanon Valley scored three straight from Brett Kudiak, Klayton Garman and Alex Bushong. In the second half, Garman scored first, but freshman Brandon Feeney and sophomore Matt Mignogna were able to close the Knights' gap to 5-3.
Lebanon Valley again went on to score three straight goals to push their lead to 8-3 before freshman Nick Ferraro found the back of the net before halftime to make the score 8-4. Jacovino started off the third period with a goal before another three-goal Dutchmen run made it 11-5 with three more goals. Ferraro and Feeney each scored their second of the day to make the score 11-7 before junior Kenny Grant capped the scoring for the Knights, making it a 12-8 game with 11:47 to go in the fourth quarter.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Ferraro finished the day with two goals, one assist, and one ground ball, while Jacovino and Feeney each had two scores. Mignogna finished with one goal and two caused turnovers and Grant ended the day with one score. Junior Casey Fayan also caused two turnovers and scooped up five ground balls on the day.
LEBANON VALLEY LEADERS: Kudiak led the Dutchmen with three goals and one assist, along with two ground balls and one caused turnover. Bushong had three goals, three ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Garman finished the day with two goals and one assist. Jeremy Beaver collected nine ground balls on the day as Lebanon Valley's face off specialist, winning 17 of his 23 contest draws.
IN GOAL: Lebanon Valley's Cameron Epple moved to 8-4 after allowing eight goals and making six saves. Arcadia sophomore A.J. Beck fell to 1-6, making a career-high 19 saves and allowing 13 goals. His 19 stops are one off the school-record of 20 saves in a single game.
