CHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team fell 16-6 at Widener Tuesday night in the penultimate game of the season. The loss dropped the Knights to 3-12 on the season and 1-6 in conference play, while Widener moved to 7-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The hosts took control with six first quarter goals and held an 11-0 halftime lead. The Scarlet and Grey outscored the Pride 6-5 in the second half, including 3-1 in the third quarter.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Freshmen
Jay Horner and
Nick Ferraro combined for five goals, as the former met twine three times and the latter twice; sophomore
Ryan Green scored once.\
WIDENER LEADERS: Drew Amsley, Tim Taylor and Kyle Gratz all scored three goals to lead the Pride.
IN THE CIRCLE: Sophomore
A.J. Beck suffered the loss making nine saves and allowing 11 goals, while freshman
Danny Lipkin surrendered five goals and made six saves. Matt Horton picked up the win for Widener allowing three goals and making one save.
