Adeline Bellesheim and sophomore
Allegra Benites scored the final two goals of the game to give the Arcadia University women's lacrosse a 13-12 MAC Commonwealth victory over visiting Widener University Tuesday night at Easton Field. The Knights improved to 5-10 overall and 1-6 in conference play as they snapped a seven-game losing streak. The Pride fell to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in league play with the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Widener led this back and forth contest 11-8 following Melissa Sailey's third goal of the contest 11 minutes into the second half, but the Knights rallied with a 5-1 run to close the contest. Junior
Erin Misner got things going with her second goal of the game midway through the frame before back-to-back goals by Bellesheim tied the game at 11 with 9:26 remaining.
Sailey put the Pride back on top two minutes later, but that proved to be their final lead of the game as Bellesheim tied it up with 4:05 remaining and Benites buried the game-winner 1:09 later for the 13-12 final. Widener had possession after the draw the followed, but Sailey was forced into a turnover by senior

Liz Stierle and the Knights were able to maintain control from there, running out the final two minutes after a successful clear.
IN GOAL: Senior
Jordyn Dunacusky totaled eight saves as she improved to 5-9 this season and recorded her program-record 41st career win. Grace Morales fell to 5-9 after making just five saves in the game.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Bellesheim and Benites both finished with a game-high five goals to lead the Knights; the five goals were a career-high for Benites. Misner totaled two goals and four draw controls, while senior
Dawn Faranetta added one goal, one assist and three draw controls.
RECORD WATCH: Faranetta raised her career scoring totals to 194 goals, 81 assists and 275 career points; she would need six goals in the season finale at Hood to become the third player in program history with 200 career goals. Bellesheim now has 143 career points (90 goals, 53 assists), moving her up to ninth on the career scoring list. Dunacusky now has 487 saves, putting her 13 away from 500 for her career.
WIDENER LEADERS: Sailey scored four times for the Pride, while Meghan Garvey totaled two goals, a game-high three assists and a game-high six draw controls. Morgan Scott also found the back of the net twice.
