Women’s Volleyball Evens Conference Record with Sweep at Albright

READING, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team got back in the win column with a convincing 3-0 MAC Commonwealth victory at Albright College Tuesday night, improving its record to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The Lions fell to 2-2 overall after dropping their conference-opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The first game saw the two teams trade scoring runs until the score was tied at 16-all, but it was all Arcadia from there as junior Colleen Stengel recorded a kill to start a 9-1 run that gave Arcadia a 25-17 win in the opener. Stengel started a four-point run that broke a 9-9 deadlock in the second game before sophomore Katie Wilson put down three kills during a five-point run that put the Scarlet and Grey in front 18-12 on their way to another 25-17 win.

Albright led the third game 23-21 following kills from Maddy Greth and Claudia Guise but couldn't hang on as the Knights scored the final four points to take the game 25-23 and the match 3-0. Sophomore Sam Dulak clinched the win with back-to-back service aces.

ARCADIA LEADERS: Sophomore Lizzie Joseph hit 37 percent while registering a match-high 15 kills to lead the Knights, while also totaling four aces and four digs. Senior MaKenna Micklus hit 33 percent with eight kills, two aces and two digs, while Stengel notched 26 assists.

ALBRIGHT LEADERS: Greth hit 47 percent with 11 kills, five acres and five digs to lead the Lions, while Kellie Hill shipped in with six kills. Becca Davis had a match-high seven kills.
