SELLINSGROVE, Pa. – Sophomore
Peter Supinski scored just over two minutes into overtime to give the Arcadia University men's soccer team a 3-2 win at Susquehanna Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Knights now sit at 4-2 on the season and 1-1 on the current four-game road swing.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The teams traded goals all day, with freshman
Shade Foreman's first career tally opening the scoring in the 22nd minute, sophomore RJ White registered an assist on the goal. The hosts retaliated just over 10 minutes later when Ryan Cronin scored off a corner kick. Junior
Bradley McKim put the Knights back on top in the 35th minute when he scored off an assist from classmate
Ryan Keeter, the 2-1 scored stood true at the half. Max Maidenberg scored in the 52nd minute for the River Hawks to tie the game at two. With neither team finding the back of the net the rest of the half, the contest went to an extra session. Supinski wasted little time ending the game as he put the first shot of the overtime period in the back of the net just 2:09 in.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Though the Knights were outshot 13-11 for the game, they were able to put eight shots on frame compared to five for the hosts. Arcadia took three more corner kicks than Susquehanna, highlighted stemming from a 4-1 margin in the first half.
IN GOAL: Junior
Chris Watson moved to 4-2 on the season making three saves. Matt Ellingworth made five saves at the other end while taking the loss.
