FREDRICK, Md. – The Arcadia University women's swimming team picked up a 171-61 win over Hood Saturday afternoon in dual meet action. It was the Knights' first meet of the year.
 
FOR THE RECORD:

• The Knights start the season 1-0
• Hood is 0-1

 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Sophomore Eunice Ardamoy, freshman Madison McKay and junior Taylor Byers were all part of winning relay teams as the trio was joined by sophomore Rachel Samson for a 1:56.42 finish in the 200 medley relay. They added sophomore Megan Hupp for the 200 freestyle relay, finishing in 1:46.11.
• Samson was a three-time winner on the day as she took first place in the 200 freestyle (2:05.09), 100 freestyle (57.39) and 200 IM (2:21.24)
• Hupp claimed the No. 1 spot in the distance freestyle events, finishing the 1000-yard free style in 11:08.18 and the 500 yard freestyle in 5:25.97.
• McKay was a two-time winner as she finished the 50 yard freestyle in 25.46 and the 100 butterfly at 1:04.43
• Junior Rose Georgias took home first place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:21.20.

 
NOTES:

• Arcadia has won 10 straight meets dating back to the start of last season
• This is the third straight year the Knights have opened the season with a win over Hood.
