GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team dropped a 10-5 decision to DeSales Wednesday evening on Jean Lenox West Field. The loss dropped the Knights to 0-3 on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Senior
Kenny Grant opened the scoring with his first goal of the season five and a half minutes in. The Bulldogs responded just over a minute later, before freshman
Clo Muscara found the back of the net with 0.5 seconds on the clock for a 2-1 Arcadia lead after 15 minutes of play. With the Knights ahead 4-2 following a goal from freshman
Tanner Pajakinas with 3:50 to go in the second quarter, the visitors netted the frame's final two markers to tie the game at four before halftime.
Each team scored once in the third quarter, with senior
Casey Fayan rifling a shot past the keeper with 4:44 left in the frame, before DeSales' Tommy Friedman scored with 50 seconds left. Friedman's goal was the first of six unanswered tallies for the visitors.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Muscara led the Knights with three points on a goal and two assists. Pajakinas, Fayan and freshman
Josh Keitz all had a goal, while freshman
Austin Williams tallied an assists.
DeSALES LEADERS: Bryan Weber led the Bulldogs with five points on four goals and an assist. Josh Harman registered four helpers on the day, while Kevin Monaghan recorded two goals and an assist for three points.
IN GOAL: Sophomore
Danny Lipkin (0-3) took the loss for the Knights, allowing 10 goals while making 10 saves. Matt Barry (1-1) earned the win making four saves and allowing five goals.
