ASTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University baseball team scored five runs in the second and six runs on the fifth on its way to a convincing 15-1 non-conference victory at Neumann University Wednesday, running its winning streak to six games.
FOR THE RECORD: The Scarlet and Grey improved to 20-7 with the victory. This marks the programs 10th 20-win season, its first under first-year head coach
Bryan Torresani. This marks fewest games needed to win 20 games in program history; Arcadia got off toa 20-8 start in 2007. Neumann fell to 11-12 with the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Sophomore
Bryan Gillen drove in the only two runs Arcadia would need with his double to left in the top of the second, and then went home on sophomore
Luke Hohenstein's double to left to give the Scarlet and Grey a 3-0 lead. Senior

Phil Pierfy added RBI singles that plated Hohenstein and senior
Jordan Draude to extend the lead to 5-0 going to the bottom half of the frame.
The Knights erupted for six runs in the top of the fifth, two ow which came home on sophomore
Nick Ponente's double to left, and added three runs in the top of the ninth after Pierfy drove a 1-1 offering over the left field fence. Neumann's lone run came on Nick Panissidi's pinch-hit double to left that plated Kyle Weller from second.
ON THE HILL: Seven Arcadia pitchers combined to allow just eight hits in the game. Junior
Mark DiBattiste (1-0) picked up the win on the mound for Arcadia after tossing two scoreless innings of relief in which he yielded no hits and one walk. Sophomore
Zach Manasek scattered three hits over the first three innings, but did not factor in the decision. James Angellella (1-2) took the loss for Neumann after giving up four runs on four hits and three walks in 1.1 innings.
ARCADIA AT BAT: Pierfy went 3 for 5 with a three-run homer and five total RBI and two runs scored, while Chasmar finished 3 for 5 with an RBI and a runs scored. Junior
Nick Cardace was 2 for 5 with a double, and RBI and two runs scored, while Ponente finished the day 2 for 4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored. Junior
Pat Shevlin was 2 for 5 with two runs scored, and Gillen was 3 for 4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Hohenstein finished 2 for 3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored.
NEUMANN AT BAT: Spencer Young had the only multi-hit game for Neumann, going 2 for 3 with a pair of singles. Weller was 1 for 3 with a walk and a run scored.
