CHESTER, Pa. – Sophomore
Jackie Bilotti sent a two-run home run over the center field wall in the top of the third inning to power the Arcadia University softball team to a 3-2 win in the second game of a doubleheader at Widener Wednesday night. The Knights fell 1-0 in a nine-inning pitching duel in the day's opener. The Scarlet and Grey now sit at 15-5 on the season and 5-1 in conference play, while the Pride fell to 15-7 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
GAME 1: WIDENER 1, ARCADIA 0 (9 INNINGS)
HOW IT HAPPENED: Each team had just one runner reach third over the first seven innings. The Knights threatened in the top of the second by loading the bases with one out before the next two batters were retired. The Pride reached third base for the first time in the bottom of the fifth on a two out walk. The eighth saw each team get runners as far as second base.
Arcadia was retired in order in the top of the ninth before Widener scored in the bottom of the frame. Ally Horvath reached on a one-out fielder's choice before stealing her way to third. Horvath beat the throw home on a bunt to the pitcher by Jamie Gosselin.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Bilotti, classmate

Mary Pat Murray each registered registered a hit for the Knights.
WIDENER LEADERS: Katie Rabuck and Liz Antonucci each went 2-4, while five other players recorded one hit.
IN THE CIRCLE: Rabuck (6-3) picked up the win throwing nine scoreless innings, allowing three hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Freshman
Kylee Schwind (6-3) took the loss, allowing one run on nine hits with three walks and 10 strikeouts in 8.1 innings of work.
GAME 2: ARCADIA 3, WIDENER 1
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Knights offense went to work early in the night cap, as Bilotti led off with a triple to right field before scoring on a groundout by junior
Amanda Hess two batters later. The Pride got the run back in the bottom of the second, when Katie Sterling stole third before scoring on the play due to a throwing error by the catcher.
Freshman
Bekah Good led off the top of the third with a single through the left side. Two batters later, Bilotti came to the plate to send the first pitch she saw over the center field wall for a two-run home run the first of her career. The 3-1 score stood until the bottom of the sixth when Lauren Del Romano singled up the middle to plate Horvath from third.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Bilotti went 3-3 in the game, finishing a single shy of the cycle, with two RBI and a stolen base. Freshman
Tori Zangrilli went 2-3 with a double. Hess and Good each recorded a hit.
WIDENER LEADERS: Five different players recorded a base hit for Widener, while three stole a base.
IN THE CIRCLE: Murray (6-1) picked up the win throwing seven innings allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits with three strikeouts. Horvath (7-2) took the loss, allowing three runs one seven hits with a walk and eight strikeouts.
