Women’s Volleyball Takes Two on Second Day of Gettysburg's Battlefield Classic

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team swept the second day of the Gettysburg Invitational, taking down Penn State Altoona 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19) and Marywood 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-20). Sophomore Emily Eng was named to the All-Tournament Team; the libero totaled 52 digs in the Knights' four matches.
 
FOR THE RECORD: The wins pushed the Knights to 3-1 on the young season. Penn State Altoona sits at 2-2 on the year including a win over Marywood earlier in the day. The Pacers fell to 0-4 on the season with the two losses.
 
ARCADIA 3, PENN STATE ALTOONA 0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19)
 
ARCADIA LEADERS: Sophomore Shannon Ryan led the Knights with eight kills and four service aces, while freshman Allison Elechko added six kills. Juniors Lizzie Joseph and Katie Wilson, and freshman Maddie Sehrt added five kills each, while Eng totaled 10 digs. Freshman Julia Paliwodzinski registered 16 assists and four digs, while senior Colleen Stengel handed out 11 assists with five digs.

PENN STATE ALTOONA LEADERS: Kelsey Bristol hit .471 with eight kills on 17 attempts to go with six digs, while Velanna Skripek hit .556 with five kills on nine swings. Lauren Moran had 19 assists.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Knights outscored the Lions 49-27 in the match, totaling 32 kills, nine aces and eight blocks. Altoona totaled just 22 kills, four blocks and one ace.
 
ARCADIA 3, MARYWOOD 0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-20)
 
ARCADIA LEADERS: Elechko led the Knights with eight kills and just one error on 16 attempts for a .438 hitting percentage, while freshman Lauren Enfield and Ryan totaled six kills each. Stengel and Paliwodzinski had respective totals of 13 assists and 10 assists, while Eng tallied 10 digs.
 
MARYWOOD LEADERS: Peri Sheerin led the Pacers with 12 kills, while Mikayla Attwood was second with seven kills. Annie Heyen notched 17 assists, while Jordan Vossler tallied 20 digs.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Arcadia outscored Marywood 42-40, totaling 30 kills, eight service aces and four blocks. The Pacers totaled 32 kills, six aces and two blocks.
