Women’s Swimming Sets Single Season Win Total Record at 10; Moves Win Streak to 19 After Downing Widener, 144-118

CHESTER, Pa. – With a victory Saturday afternoon at Widener, 144-118, the Arcadia women's swimming team set a program record for wins in a single season with 10. The Knights also extended their dual meet win steak to 19.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights move to a perfect 10-0 on the season.
  • Widener drops to 6-2 for the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Paving the way for the Knights was sophomore Megan Hupp, with 27 points for the Scarlet and Grey. The Virginia Beach, Va. Native picked up three first place finishes (1000-yard freestyle – 10:53.41, 200-yard freestyle – 1:57.92, 500-yard freestyle – 5:18.26) while helping the 200-yard medley squad to a first-place finish, clocking in at 1:55.09.
  • Continuing the success was senior Rose Georgias, earning 16 points for Arcadia. The Springfield, Pa. native tabbed a first-place finish (200-yard backstroke – 2:17.30), a second-place nod (100-yard backstroke – 1:03.58), and a third-place mark (200-yard IM – 2:21.47). Georgias also helped the Knights 400-yard freestyle medley crew clock a third-place finish with a time of 3:59.14.
  • Also contributing 16 points to the Knights victory, was sophomore Eunice Ardamoy. The King of Prussia, Pa. native claimed a first (100-yard backstroke – 1:02.26), second (200-yard backstroke – 2:19.40), and third place (50-yard freestyle – 26.06) finish, while also aiding the 200-yard medley team to a first-place victory.
  • Sophomore Bailey Babarsky was the third Knight to earn 16 points for the Scarlet and Grey, as she picked up a first-place finish (100-yard breaststroke – 2:02.58), second-place mark (200-yard breast stroke – 2:38.40), and a third-place nod (200-yard freestyle – 2:01.57). The Peckville, Pa. native also assisted in claiming third-place points on the 200-yard medley squad.
  • Freshman Madison McKay chipped in 15 points for Arcadia, as the Leesburg, Va. native took first-place points in the 100-yard freestyle (56.74), second-place earnings in the 50-yard freestyle (25.47), and a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.79). McKay also helped the 200-yard medley team tab a first-place finish.
  • Sophomore Rachel Samson was the next highest earner for the Knights, claiming 12 points on the afternoon. The Newtown, Pa. native picked up three second-place finishes (200-yard butterfly – 2:23.34, 100-yard butterfly – 1:04.15, 200-yard IM – 2:19.60), while also aiding in acquiring third-place points on the 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:59.14).
  • Next on the scorers list for the Knights was junior Taylor Byers. Byers claimed three third-place earnings (100-yard breaststroke – 1:13.92, 100-yard freestyle – 50.36, 200-yard breaststroke – 2:50.63) and assisted the 200-yard medley squad to first place points.
  • Sophomore Marissa Kirkendoll chipped in five points as she grabbed two fourth-place finishes (100-yard breaststroke – 1:19.86, 200-yard breaststroke – 2:49.76), while also claiming fifth place points in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:31.38.
  • Junior Alyssa D'Esposito earned four points on the day, claiming two fourth-place nods, one in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:41.62) and one in the 500-yard freestyle (5:39.14). The Monroe, N.J. native also contributed to third-place points in the 400-yard free relay.
  • Also adding four points was freshman Kenzie Myer. Myer placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.05) and 200-yard backstroke (2:26.37). The Douglasville, Pa. native also chipped in on the 200-yard medley team to earn third place points.
  • Sophomore Annalise Christy picked up three points for the Scarlet and Grey as she finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:29.40) and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:52.15). The Bath, Pa. native aided in a third-place finish for the 200-yard medley crew.
  • Sophomore Bekah Brown earned a point with a fifth-place nod in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:46.56), while also helping the 200-yard medley squad pick up third-place points.
  • Rounding out the scoring effort for the Knights was junior Kailey Allen. Allen earned one point with a fifth-place time in the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.86.)
UP NEXT:
  • The Knights will take on Div. I opponent La Salle University on Friday, as the Scarlet and Grey travel to Philadelphia. Action will get underway at 6 p.m.
