GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Arcadia field hockey team fell 2-1 in overtime to Stockton in its second-ever appearance in the ECAC Championship game on Sunday afternoon.
The Knights finish their 2018 campaign with a 16-7 overall record, while Stockton improves to 15-6.
Stockton took the lead just three minutes into the contest. Casey Cordonna scored on a tap in at the left post, giving Ospreys a 1-0 advantage.
The Knights answered just before halftime.
Sydney Cyr beat Stockton goalie Emily Gilligan on a shot from the top of the arc, after a penalty corner was inserted by
Adera Ahern, to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the break.
The Knights had plenty of chances to take the lead in the second half. In the 64th minutes
Gabby Sedares fired a shot, but a defensive save by Stockton's Victoria Caiazzo kept the game tied at 1-1.
Neither team was able to break the tie in regulation, as the contest went into overtime. In the extra frame, Britney Stein scored in the 73rd minute, after a centering pass from Sarah Fisher, to win the ECAC title for Stockton.

Ashton Evans and Cyr were all named to the All-Tournament team for the Knights.
IN GOAL: Evans played 72:23 in goal for the Knights, making three saves and allowing two goals. Gilligan played 72:23 in goal for Stockton, allowing one goal and making eight saves.
BY THE NUMBERS: The Knights out shot the Ospreys 19-6 in the contest, with 12 on goal compared to Stockton's five … The Knights had 14 penalty corner opportunities in the contest, while Stockton had just three … Arcadia's 12 shots on goal are the fourth-most it has had in a game this season ... The Knights were paced by Dougherty, who totaled six shots with four on goal ... Six Knights registered a shot in the contest, with five registering two or more ...
