Knights Edge Wesley, 79-77

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Camille Menns' jumper with 1:03 left lifted the Arcadia women's basketball team to a 79-77 win over Wesley on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Gymnasium.
 
Taylor Dunn scored a career-high 31 points on 10 of 17 shooting, and grabbed seven boards to pace Arcadia (2-4). Menns also scored in double figures with 18 and grabbed 11 rebounds for a double-double.
 
Taking a 41-31 lead at the break, the Knights stretched their lead to 10 when Dunn hit a three with 9:09 remaining in the third quarter, making the score 44-36.
 
Wesley (1-3) cut the Knights' lead to single figures, going on a 12-9 run, making the game a five-point contest (53-48) with 3:54 remaining in the third quarter.
 
The Knights lead shrunk to just two, with 1:47 left in the third. The Wolverines closed the quarter on a 8-2 run, taking a 56-55 lead heading to the fourth.
 
In the fourth quarter, nether team was able to pull away from the other. The Knights tied the score (57-57) on a pair of Menns free throws with 9:26 remaining.
 
Later in the frame with the Knights trailing by two, 67-65, Dunn knocked down a jumper to even the score at 67-67 with 4:52 remaining in the contest.
 
After the Wolverines took a one-point lead with (76-75) with 2:02 remaining. Menns hit a jumper with 1:03 left, to pull the Knights ahead 77-76.
 
The Knights would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the contest, converting free throws in the final minute after Wesley was unable to convert two layup attempts with 13 seconds remaining, to come away with the victory.
 
Sydney Cyr and Caitlin Jensen each scored eight points in the win for Arcadia, while Cyr racked up seven assists. The Knights shot 81.3 percent from the charity stripe as a team in the win, and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc in the contest.
 
Angelique Gathers scored 21 points to pace the Wolverines.
 
The Knights are back in action on Saturday when they host Hood beginning at 1 p.m.
