GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University baseball team will play its home games at Skip Wilson Field on Temple University's Ambler campus beginning in the 2018 season. The move was announced by Director of Athletics
Brian Granata Tuesday.
"We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with Temple to provide access to Skip Wilson Field for our baseball program," said Granata. "This former Division I facility represents a significant upgrade for our team and provides a number of amenities to enhance the student-athlete experience. It has been Arcadia's goal for some time now to enhance our home baseball facility, and we are very appreciative of the university's support in making that a reality."
From 2004 until 2014, Temple's baseball program played on Skip Wilson Field, which measures 330 feet down the lines and 400 feet to center. The facility includes the Temple Intercollegiate Athletics Fieldhouse, which holds locker rooms, athletic training facilities, coaches' offices, and a laundry room.
"This is a monumental day for our program," said Arcadia's head baseball coach
Bryan Torresani. "The move to Skip Wilson Field will greatly enhance the experience for our student-athletes and certainly help us recruit. This facility will be one of the nicest in the Mid-Atlantic Region of Division III, and we are looking forward to creating a home-field advantage in Ambler. Our players and coaches are extremely excited to get settled in the new clubhouse and get to work on the new field."
Arcadia moves to Skip Wilson Field from Erny Field, which has been the Knights' home since 2003. With the announcement of the new facility comes a
revised schedule, including location and time changes. The Knights are slated to christen their new home Sunday, Feb. 25 against Swarthmore College.
