Men's Basketball Stumbles at Widener

FREDRICK, Md. – Freshman Da'Kquan Davis registered 20 points on the night, however the Arcadia men's basketball team fell to Widener, 86-70.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights drop to 13-11 overall and 8-7 in conference play.
  • Widener moves to 14-10 on the year with a MAC Commonwealth record of 7-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Most of the first half belonged to the Pride, however the Knights did take a 10-3 run, spanning 3:35 to cut the deficit from 14 to nine with 6:43 left in the frame. Five different Knights registered points on the run. When the buzzer sounded, Widener had a 43-24 lead heading into the break.
  • The Scarlet and Grey tried to mount a second half comeback, taking a 31-21 run over the final 10:15 of the game, but were too late. 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Joining Davis in double figures was junior Josh Scott, who dropped 10 points.
  • On the night, Arcadia outscored its opponent in the paint, 38-28.
  • The Knights also forced 20 turnovers, which led to 20 points. 
UP NEXT:
  • The Knights return home for a Saturday regular season finale as they host Hood for senior day. If Arcadia wins the 3 p.m. matchup, it will clinch a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Championship.
