GLENSIDE, Pa. – Sophomore Shannon Ryan and senior Allegra Benites combined for 11 points as the Arcadia women's lacrosse team fell to Haverford in the season opener, 17-9. Ryan registered two goals and five assists, while Benites scored four goals.
 
FOR THE RECORD:

• Arcadia starts the season 0-1.
• Haverford sits at 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Fords edged the Knights in the first half, taking a 13-2 lead into the break.
• In the second frame, senior Nicole Hutson started the offensive effort for Arcadia, netting a goal on a dish from Ryan. The score came just 52 seconds into the second half.
• After three straight Haverford goals, the Scarlet and Grey responded on a 6-1 run to close the game. Over the rally, Arcadia saw four goals from Benites – all with assists from Ryan. Sophomore Julia Imbert contributed a breakaway goal, with Hutson scoring her second goal on a pass from sophomore Jess Kaye.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• As a team, the Knights held the advantage on draw controls, 15-12.
• Ryan contributed eight draw controls and sophomore Victoria Mollitor snagged a career high four.
