Women’s Tennis Battles Messiah

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia women's tennis team hosted Messiah Saturday afternoon, falling 8-1. The Knights point came at No. 1 singles.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Scarlet and Grey are now 5-6 on the year and 2-3 in conference play.
  • The Falcons own a 10-6 overall record and 7-0 conference mark.
WINNER:
  • Senior Amanda Shulski claimed the win at No. 1 singles, besting Kelly Hopkins 6-2, 6-0.
CLOSE CALLS:
  • Junior Zoe Foglia and freshman Tess Weber took the No. 1 doubles flight to a tiebreak, but fell 9-8 (7-3).
  • Shulski teamed with sophomore Casey Boldt at second doubles, fighting to a 9-7 setback.
  • Weber forced a third set in the third singles flight with Carly Dove, before falling 3-6, 7-6 (10-8), 0-6.
  • Sophomore Maeghan Myers took Gracie Estrella to a third set in the sixth singles flight, but dropped the match 4-6, 6-4, 7-10.
