Carew Registered Three Extra-Base Hits, But Baseball’s Comeback Bid Falls Short Against Neumann

AMBLER, Pa. – The Arcadia baseball team's comeback bid fell short in an 8-5 setback to Neumann Thursday. Junior Sean Carew highlighted the Knights' offense with three extra-base hits on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Each team plated a run in the first inning, with Arcadia's coming off a Carew double to left center to bring in classmate Phil Pierfy.
  • After the visitors scored six in the top of the third inning, the Scarlet and Grey began its comeback attempt in the bottom of the sixth as junior Luke Hohenstein singled through the left side with two outs to bring in Carew.
  • Arcadia added two more in the bottom of the eighth, as Carew sent a two-RBI triple to the right field fence allowing Pierfy and fellow junior Bryan Gillen to score. Two batters later, Hohenstein doubled to center to bring in Carew.
