WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Arcadia women's tennis team opened its MAC Commonwealth competition with a 6-3 setback at Lycoming. The Knights picked up a point in doubles play, while freshmen Tess Weber and Emily Cruz-Pineda picked up singles wins.
FOR THE RECORD:

• The Knights are now 2-3 on the year, and 0-1 in conference play.
• The Warriors are 7-4 on the year and 1-0 in conference play.

WINNERS:

• Cruz-Pineda teamed with sophomore Maeghan Myers for an 8-4 win at third doubles.
• Weber was edged in the first set 7-5 at No. 3 singles, before claiming sets two and three by matching 6-2 scores for the win over Kaitlin Hallabuk.
• Cruz-Pineda bested Kimberleigh Parroccini 6-3, 6-3 at sixth singles.

CLOSE CALL:

• Sophomore Casey Boldt forced a tiebreak in the second set of the No. 4 singles match, but fell 2-6, 6-7 (1-7).
