Ryan Registers Eight Points, Ties Career High with Five Assists as Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomore Shannon Ryan put on a career performance Monday night, tying her career high in assists with five as Arcadia women's lacrosse fell to Swarthmore, 16-13.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • Arcadia falls to 6-5 on the season.
  • Swarthmore moves to 8-2 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • It was an even matchup through the first half of play with the score knotted at six. The teams swapped goals in the back-and-forth half, with Arcadia's goals coming from seniors Nicole Hutson, Marie Brockman, sophomores Victoria Mollitor, Jess Kaye, and freshman Michaela Ferlow. Ryan picked up four assists in the period.
  • In the second half, the home squad was able to pull off the comeback. Arcadia scored seven goals in the frame, with three from Hutson and Ryan, and one from Ferlow.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Ryan finished with eight points on the night, with three goals and five assists. She also added 10 draw controls.
  • Hutson had four goals, while Brockman and Ferlow each added two.
  • Sophomore Molly Naylor made nine saves, corralling six ground balls.
GAME NOTES:
  • With her five assists, Ryan now sits tied for third most all-time with 68.
  • Hutson moved into seventh place in program history for ground balls (139).
  • Senior Allegra Benites is tied for 10th place all-time with 36 assists.
  • Senior Courtney Capehart caused two turnovers, moving her into sixth place in program history (55).
