GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia women's tennis team earned an 8-1 win over Penn State Abrington to open the season on Wednesday at Weiss Courts.

The Knights got off to a fast start, sweeping the doubles portion of the match, and dominated singles, winning five of six matches.

Zoe Foglia and
Julia Paraboschi defeated Stephanie Jin and Fatoumata 8-1 in the first doubles match. In the second doubles match,
Casey Boldt and
Laryssa Badulak 8-0. In the third and final doubles match,
Emily Cruz-Pineda and
Maeghan Myers trumped Marta Tynchenko and Dena Mariani, 8-1 to give the Knights the sweep in doubles.

In singles, Foglia was defeated by Jin 6-1, 6-2 in the first singles match. The Knights won all of their remaining matches, with Pineda winning her singles match 6-3, 6-0. Paraboschi followed by winning her match 6-4, 6-2.

Boldt claimed her singles match by a score of 6-0, 6-2 and Badulak won her singles match 6-1, 6-0. Myers won the final singles match 6-0, 6-0.

The Knights are back in action on Thursday September 27th when they host Cabrini University at 3 p.m.
