Field Hockey Drops Conference Finale, Clinches Fourth Seed in Commonwealth Tournament

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team dropped their final MAC Commonwealth match of the season against Lebanon Valley, 4-2, Wednesday afternoon.

Adera Ahern and Regan Sammons collected tallies for the Knights, but couldn't overcome a three-goal first quarter from the Dutchmen. Despite the loss, Arcadia clinched the fourth seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Danielle Alba opened the scoring with Lebanon Valley's first goal in the third minute. Cecile Kat then added two more first quarter tallies with a couple breakaway scores to pull ahead, 3-0.

-  Ahern netted the Knights opening tally in the 21st minute to cut the deficit to two goals before halftime. Following a corner attempt, Carly Flickinger tipped a pass in front of the cage, which found the stick of Ahern.

- Gracie Fenner, who entered the game in the first quarter, made an excellent save to stop a Dutchmen fastbreak. However, Ashlee Sheibley corralled the second chance opportunity and connected on the put back for the squad's fourth goal.

- Sammons added a Knights goal in the 54th minute to pull within two scores. The freshman attacked from the right side on a fastbreak to beat the keeper high.
