Preview: Men's Soccer Hosts Opening Two Rounds of ECAC Tournament

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's soccer team will host the opening two rounds of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament, this weekend on Jean Lenox West Field. The Knights, who earned the second seed in their pod, open the tournament against Wesley College, while the top-seeded Kean University takes on Hunter College on Saturday. The winner of both matchups advances to Sunday's quarterfinals at 1 p.m.

Round 1 (Nov. 16): #3 Wesley at #2 Arcadia, 2 p.m.
Quarterfinals (Nov. 17): Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2, 1 p.m.

HUNTER HAWKS

2019 Record: 
8-7-2, 6-1-0 CUNYAC
- The second-seeded Hawks fell to John Jay, 0-0, in penalty kicks to drop the CUNYAC Championship. Hunter opened up postseason play with a 2-0 win over Baruch College in the CUNYAC semifinals. Sammy Ahmed and Blaise Enama tallied the Hawks two goals as Noah Dougherty recorded his second shutout of the season.
- Four Hawks earned postseason recognition, including the CUNYAC Player of the Year Patino Munoz, who was the first Hunter men's soccer athlete to earn the honor since 1999. Blaise Enama joined Munoz as a First-team selection, while Regis Enama and Mikael Young-Malka garnered Second-team distinction. 
- Blaise Enama and Munoz tied for the team lead with 27 points. Enama tallied a team-best 11 goals with five assists, while Munoz had 10 goals and a team-high seven assists. Sammy Ahmed was thee only other Hawk with multiple goals, tallying four on the season.

KEAN COUGARS
Schedule Roster Statistics
2019 Record: 
9-7-3, 3-3-3 NJAC
- Kean fell to Rowan University, 2-1, in double-overtime of the opening round of the NJAC Championship Tournament. Felipe Lucas netted the Cougars lone goal in the 18th minute, but Rowan answered with goals in the 53rd and 102nd minutes, respectively. 
- Five Cougars earned NJAC All-Conference distinction. Max Acosta and Calvin Carbajal were both selected to the second team, while Felix PereyraAyodele Oladokun and Dillon Konzelmann were all named to the honorable mention. 
- Acosta led thee squad with 18 points with a team-high eight goals to go along with two assists. Lucas was second on the Cougars with seven tallies, while Alex Nicol and Brandon Grine had three goals, respectively. 
- The Cougars defeated Hunter College, 7-3, back in September.

WESLEY WOLVERINES

2019 Record: 
11-7-1, 5-2 Atlantic East
- The Wolverines fell to Cabrini College, 2-1, in the AEC semifinals. Welsey opened the postsean with a 2-1 victory over Neumann University with goals from Darius-David Robinson and Luis Cruz.
- Four Wesley College men's soccer players received All-Atlantic East Conference honors. Matthew Dina was named AEC Player of the Year, while Kaiden Fields, Justin John-Langba and Luis Cruz all joined their teammate on the First-team.
- John-Langba led the way for the Wolverines with a team-high 14 goals for 28 points. Fields was second on the squad with six goals, while collecting a team-best six assists to end the year with 18 points. 

ARCADIA KNIGHTS

2019 Record: 
9-9-2, 4-2-2 MAC Commonwealth
- After earning the third seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament, the Knights fell to Lycoming, 3-0, in the conference semifinals. Arcadia finished thee season strong with a 4-1-1 showing in its final six games. 
- Sophomore goalkeeper Jake Varrato was named All-MAC Commonwealth First-team, while Daniel TittelmayerDuncan O'Connor and Bryan Reyes garnered second-team distinction. Varrato had an exceptional season for the Knights, earning MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week four times and tallying seven shutouts, which ties for fourth in program history. 
- A junior captain, O'Connor tallied a team-high 17 points with eight goals and one assist to earn his first career all-conference selection. Keegan Bower was second on the squad with four goals and three assists for 11 points.
