Men's Soccer's 2019 Campaign Comes to an End in ECAC Quarterfinals

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's soccer team saw its 2019 season and ECAC Championship run come to an end Saturday as the Knights fell to Kean in the tournament's quarterfinals, 1-0. The Knights held a high-powered Kean offense scores for the first 79 minutes of the match, but the Cougars were able to net the game-winner with ten minutes remaining in regulation to advance to the ECAC Final Four.

Jake Varrato made seven saves in net for the second-consecutive day for the Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights and Cougars struggled to gain an early advantage as a majority of play occurred in the middle third to be begin the match. Kean had a few good looks on goal in the latter stages of the half, but Varrato came up big with a pair of saves to preserve the scoreless tie.
-Arcadia narrowly came away with the game's first goal in the 76th minute when Shade Foreman's corner kick into the box was deflected around before Ayo Adenegan got a foot on the ball and put it on net, but the Kean keeper was there for the crucial save.
-Kean continued to intensify its offensive pressure in the second half, resulting in seven shots and ultimately netting the game-winning goal in the 79th minute.
