PREVIEW: Field Hockey Heads to Top-Seeded Messiah for Commonwealth Semifinal Wednesday

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The fourth-seed Arcadia University women's field hockey team enters the 2019 MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament Wednesday night at top-seeded Messiah with a trip to the title game on the line for both sides. The semifinal matchup is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from Messiah's Anderson Field.

Semifinal 1 (Nov. 6): #4 Arcadia at #1 Messiah, 7 p.m. 
Semifinal 2 (Nov. 6): #3 Widener at #2 Lebanon Valley, 7 p.m. 
Final (Nov. 9): TBA vs. TBA

2019 Record:
7-12, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth
-The Knights made their way into the MAC Commonwealth Tournament behind victories over Hood (10/12), Albright (10/19) and Alvernia (10/23) while also playing to an even 5-5 record at Jean Lenox West Field in 2019.
-Michaela Ferlow and Adera Ahern paced the Knight offense with seven goals each, while Ferlow currently holds the team-lead in points with 17. Sydney Cyr enters Wednesday as the team-leader in assists with six, which is also tied for fifth in the MAC Commonwealth at the conclusion of the regular season. Cyr is also tied for the conference lead in defensive saves with seven.
-The Knights led the MAC Commonwealth in penalty corners by a wide margin, totaling 262 with the next-closest coming in a 185 (Widener).
-Arcadia dropped its regular season matchup to Messiah - who was ranked 12th-nationally at the time - by a 3-1 decision on Oct. 5. Mickie March scored the lone goal for the Knights in the effort.

-Messiah enters the MAC Commonwealth Tournament on an 11-game win streak dating back to Sept. 28. The Falcons are also a perfect 10-0 on their home turf at Anderson Field while allowing only seven goals at home on the year.
-The Falcons hold an all-time record of 62-9 in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament and are aiming to advance to their 30th conference championship game.
-Messiah ranks 19th in all of NCAA Division III in scoring margin with a 2.11 mark, outscoring its opponents, 62-20.
