Crowley Named to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA - Arcadia University's Brianna Crowley was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Soccer Team, as voted on by the sports information offices of 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Crowley was one of 11 student-athletes to earn the distinction, and one of seven Division III selections.

Eastern's Nicole Weeknink was named the Academic All-Area Women's Soccer Performer of the Year.

Crowley continues to add to her postseason accolades, as the sophomore was named a Second-team All-American and First-team All-Mid-Atlantic Region by United Soccer Coaches to go along with MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Year and First-team All-MAC Commonwealth honors. Crowley became the first defender in Arcadia women's soccer's history to be named an All-American and is one of two in program history to earn Second-team status.

Crowley helped lead an Arcadia defense that was one of the best in the nation, ranking 19th overall with a .523 goals against average. The Knights finished the season with a 15-4-3 overall record and earned their fourth-straight NCAA Tournament bid.
