GILBERT, Ariz. -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction on Monday, recognizing Arcadia's Lauren Dougherty.

Dougherty, a sophomore from Warrington, Pa., was among the 268 student-athletes from across Division III to be recognized. The NFHCA list is comprised of student-athletes who have achieved a GPA of 3.9 or higher through the first academic semester of the 2018-19 academic year. This marks the second time in as many years that Dougherty has been named a Scholar of Distinction.

The 2017 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year, Dougherty started all 23 games for the Knights in 2018, helping Arcadia to a 16-7 overall record and appearances in the MAC Commonwealth and ECAC championship games. She scored seven goals and added eight assists for a total of 22 points in her sophomore campaign.
