GLENSIDE, Pa. -- The Arcadia men's tennis team swept Hood 9-0 to open conference play at Weiss Courts on Sunday.
 
The Knights, now 5-8 on the season and 1-0 in league play, cruised to 8-0 and 8-3 wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, respectively, then benefited from a win by default at No. 3 for a 3-0 lead. Nicholas Simeone and Jaime Zeng Zhu won 8-0 at No. 1, and John Zinzer and Drake Hanak dispatched their opponents 8-3 at No. 2.
 
With a 3-0 lead heading to singles, another win by default made it 4-0, and Alex Post secured the win at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Oluwatobi Aroloye.
 
Simeone (6-0, 6-0) and Zeng Zhu (6-4, 6-1) each posted straight-set wins in singles play. Zinzer (8-3) and Hanak (8-0) secured wins in their matches, playing 8-point pro sets with the match having been decided.
 
Arcadia is back in action on Saturday at Messiah beginning at 1 p.m.
