READING, Pa. -- The Arcadia women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at Alvernia on Tuesday afternoon.

The Knights, who picked up wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 1 singles on the day, are now 7-11 on the season and 1-4 in the MAC Commonwealth, while the Golden Knights improved to 13-4 overall 4-1 in the conference.

The duo of
Emily Cruz-Pineda and
Maeghan Myers secured an 8-6 win over Cassandra Bean and Leah Kemper that tied the match at 1-1. The Golden Wolves followed with an 8-6 win at No. 1 to give the hosts a 2-1 lead heading to singles. Â

In singles play, the Golden Wolves picked up a pair of quick wins at Nos. 2 & 3 to extend their lead to 4-1.
Tess Weber kept AU in the match with a 6-1, 7-6 win at No. 1 and make it 4-2, but Alvernia scored the clinching point at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-1 win to seal the win.
Casey Boldt hung in her match at No. 4, winning the first set 6-4 before ultimately falling 6-2, 7-5 in the second and third.
