Men's Lacrosse Romps Albright, 23-9

READING, Pa. – Five goals apiece from Brady Manion and Clo Muscara led Arcadia men's lacrosse to a 23-9 romp of Albright Wednesday night. With the win, AU improves to 9-7 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Playing their last road game of the season, the Knights cashed in for nine first-quarter goals in taking a 9-3 lead after 15 minutes of play and never looked back.

Josh Keitz sparked the scoring as he ripped a shot into the back of the cage at the 13:32 mark off an assist from Wesley Sporer. Ryan Mahon followed shortly thereafter as he blasted one in from Keitz at 12:51. Manion and Muscara recorded two goals each in the next six minutes to thrust AU out in front 6-0 with 6:37 remaining in the quarter. A minute later, a tally by JP Shaaber made the 7-0 in favor of the Knights. Albright halted the scoring streak with a goal at the 4:27 mark, but AU scored two more, and held a 9-3 lead after 15 minutes.

Arcadia's offense didn't slow down in the second quarter, pumping in seven more goals, as the Knights took a 16-5 into the break.

After outscoring the Lions 4-1 in the third quarter, with Keitz tallying two goals and Manion picking up a goal and an assist, the score was 20-6 heading into the fourth quarter.

In the final 15 minutes, AU scored three more times on goals by Manion, Joe Pedisich and CJ Sherlock, to secure the 23-9 victory.

Brendan Kuzminski played all but the final 3:42 in between the pipes for Arcadia, making seven saves, while allowing nine goals, to earn the win. Connor Haines was in net for the final 3:42 minutes and stopped one shot.

In addition to nine and seven points games, respectively, from Manion (5g/4a) and Muscara (5g/2a), Sporer and Keitz finished with four points each, as Sporer scored twice and assisted on two goals, and Keitz chipped in three scores and one helper. Rounding out the balanced scoresheet, Mahon (3g) and Pedisich (2g,1a) aided in the 23 goal output.

On the defensive side of the field, Conor Cunningham was a vacuum for groundballs as he swallowed up a team season-high, and career-most, 14 on the evening. Cunningham also finished 17 of 21 at the faceoff X. Phillip Hane won 11 of 13, as well, giving the Knights 28 of 34 faceoff wins (.824).

As a team, Arcadia outshot Albright 62-34, with 37 shots going on net to the Lions' 17.

Alex McKendry led the Lions with four goals. Ethan Gain and Cole Genneken each scored twice, with Genneken adding an assist and four groundballs. Terrell Ringgold had three caused turnovers.

The Knights host Stevenson April 27 to close out the regular season. Faceoff is slated for 1 p.m.
