GLENSIDE, Pa. -- Arcadia's men's volleyball team fell 3-2 to Marymount on Friday night in a marathon five-setter at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Knights, who paid homage to their three seniors,
Alvyn Abraham,
Brandon Catala and
Edwin Waters Jr. before the match, now stand a 24-8 on the season while the Saints are 13-14.

Two of the first four sets went beyond 25 points, including a 34-32 thriller in the third. Ultimately, the Saints prevailed 25-23, 24-26, 34-32, 18-25, 15-8.

Austin Braas led the Knights with 12 kills and added six blocks and pair of service aces.
Quinn Baily posted eight kills and nine digs, and Waters and
Robie Moctezuma each recorded seven kills. Moctezuma also had six blocks. Abraham recorded 36 assists.

After trading the first two sets to put the match at 1-1, the third set proved to be a battle. The Knights seemed to control a large portion of the set and held late leads of 18-14 and 24-21. Following an MU service error, one of 29 on the night, that gave AU match point, the Saints answered with three straight points to tie the match at 24-24. Marymount staved off three more match points from the Knights, while AU survived five before the Saints ultimately picked up the 3-2 win.

In the fourth, Arcadia used a 7-1 run late to take a 16-15 lead to and push out to a 23-16 advantage en route to the seven-point win. In the fifth set, and early 6-1 run for the Saints turned a 3-2 lead for AU into an 8-4 deficit for the Knights. Arcadia never got as close as three the rest of the way.

The Knights are at Stevens Tech in a tri-match with the host Ducks and Juniata on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
