EWING, N.J. -- M.P. Murray and
Kylee Schwind each tossed a shutout as the Arcadia softball team picked up a pair of wins in the NCAA Regional to advance to Sunday's final against Randolph-Macon. The Knights opened the day with a 3-0 win over No. 9 TCNJ and closed out play with a 4-0 shutout of Mt. Aloysius.
Â
The win over The College of New Jersey marked the first NCAA Tournament win in program history for the Knights. The Knights also moved to 33-13 on the season, just win off the school record of 34 set in 2006. This is the fifth time in school history the Knights have reached at least 30 wins in a season. Â

Schwind drew the start in game one and yielded just three hits and a walk to the Lions while striking out three in 7.0 innings in the day's first elimination game. TCNJ entered the NCAA Tournament as the most decorated Division III team of all time, boasting a record six national championships, but was the first team to get eliminated.
Â
The Knights got on the scoreboard in the third inning as
Kristin Cancelliere drew a leadoff walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by
Alex DeStefano. With two outs,
Hunter Schantz laced a single to center that allowed Cancelliere to score easily from second.
Â
In the fifth inning, Cancelliere led off with a single and once again moved up on a DeStefano sacrifice bunt.
Jackie Bilotti followed with a single that gave AU runners on the corners with one out. A failed pickoff attempt at third gave Cancelliere the chance to come home and make it 2-0.
Alexis Burge then singled to right brining home Schantz and pushing the lead to 3-0.
Â
Schwind worked out of a slight jam in the sixth, getting a soft liner to Bilotti for the third out with two runners on. She set the Lions down in order in the seventh, inducing a popup to second for the game's final out.
Â
The Knights came up with six hits in game one -- all singles. Cancelliere, Bilotti, Schantz and
Julia Gessner all had one hit and a walk for the Knights.

Mary Pat Murray, pitching for the first time in almost two weeks, was stellar in her return to the circle. Entering the game with an ERA of 0.91 on the season, she did not give up a run in 7.0 innings. The Mounties managed just six hits off Murray and she struck out eight without giving up a walk.
Â
Murray worked her way out of a tight spot in the second inning as the Mounties had runners on second and third with nobody out. A three-pitch strikeout provided the first out, and Murray followed that with two more punchouts on three pitches each to keep the game level at 0-0.
Â
The Knights scored their first run of the game in the fourth as Burge hit a ground ball to short that was booted for an error allowing Bilotti to score from second. In the fifth, Cancelliere made it 2-0 with a double just inside the third base line that pushed across
Brooke Ward. Cancelliere scored from second when DeStefano reached on an error by the first baseman for a 3-0 lead.
Â
In the sixth, Gessner drove in a run with a ground out to short that plated pinch runner
Ashton Evans for a 4-0 lead. Murray set the Mounties down in order in the seventh, the last out coming on a fly ball to Cancelliere in left.
Â
The Knights were actually outhit 6-5, but three of the Scarlet & Grey's base knocks went for extra bases as Cancelliere, Bilotti and
Alexa Vardiman all doubled.
