GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - Mickie March netted her first goal of the season in the early stages of the fourth quarter to tie host Gwynedd Mercy at one in Wednesday night's non-conference matchup, but the Knights surrendered the eventual game-winning goal with just over eight minutes remaining to fall 2-1 to the Griffins. 

Ashton Evans made four saves in the cage of the seven shots on goal she faced in the tough-luck decision.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Both sides struggled to get in rhythm offensively in the early going as there were a total of only seven shots in the first half between the Knights and Griffins, resulting in a scoreless opening half.

-Gwynedd Mercy was first on the board eight minutes into the third quarter when Alyssa Tomsic picked up the rebound of her own blocked shot and found the back of the cage on her second attempt.

-The Knights answered right back ten minutes later in the early stages of the final frame on March's first goal of 2019 after Michaela Ferlow sent in a cross that was met by March on the back post.

-Gwynedd Mercy had the final say a mere three minutes later, scoring off a penalty corner for the game-winning goal to take the 2-1 victory.
