Mickie March opening the scoring under four minutes into the second half in its Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth opener, dropping a 3-2 decision to the host Mustangs. Ragan Sammons netted the Knights' other goal in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights registered 12 shots in the first half but were unable to break through with the game's first goal as the two sides entered halftime scoreless. Arcadia held Stevenson to a remarkable zero shots in the first half thanks to a dominant defense effort from the Knights.
-Just under four minutes into the second half, March broke through with the game's first goal to give the Knights the first advantage of the afternoon. Just over a minute later, Stevenson knotted the contest at one.
-Arcadia responded quickly to regain a one-goal lead as Sammons found the back of the cage, but a pair of Mustang goals before the end of the third period made the difference as the hosts were able to hold the Knights off the board the rest of the way.
