GLENSIDE, Pa. - Big days from both junior Da'Kquan Davis and senior Steve Pendleton helped lead the Knights to a valuable MAC Commonwealth win over Hood. Pendleton celebrated his Senior Day with a double-double, scoring 23 points and tallying 12 boards. Fellow senior Will Derr led all players with 15 rebounds, and Davis poured in 30 points in the victory that puts Arcadia at 9-5 in the MAC Commonwealth and 14-9 overall. The victory runs the Knights' win streak to a season-high four.
Before the start of the game, the Knights honored seniors Kishan Patel, Steve Pendleton, Will Derr, and Darren James for their contributions to the program over their careers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights jumped out to a 14-6 lead in the first five minutes of play. A pair of threes from both Davis and Pendleton - in addition to a jumper from the senior - set the tone early. At the halfway point of the first half, Justin Money added a jumper and a three pointer to put the Scarlet and Grey ahead, 24-17.
-In the last three minutes of the first half, Hood clawed back from a 10-point deficit to come within one. Davis drained a shot from behind the arc with 25 seconds left in the half to give the Knights a one-possession lead going into halftime.
-Within the first minute of the second half, Hood pulled ahead off of two-consecutive threes and a pair of Arcadia fouls that warranted free throws. Patel began the rally effort by responding with a three, and the Knights climbed back to tie the game at 52 with 13:37 left in the final half.
-The Scarlet and Grey extended their lead quickly thanks to layups from Pendleton and Derr, as well as threes from Pendleton and Davis. Arcadia pulled ahead by 15 off of a three from Patel with 3:29 left, and with just over a minute to play, Money hit a three to put the Knights ahead by 16 points to seal the Senior Day win.
