GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia women's lacrosse team opened their 2020 campaign at home on Jean Lenox West Field with a 12-4 win against Immaculata University. Seniors Julia Imbert and Jess Kaye led the Knights with three goals each, while multiple underclassmen contributed to the team's scoring.
Senior Veandra Selby tallied seven saves for a .636 save percentage en route to the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights got out to a quick start with the first goal of the season occurring in the first two minutes of play. After a few quick passes in transition, Kaye netted the first goal of the 2020 campaign for Arcadia.
-After a response from Immaculata tying the game at one, Imbert tallied her first goal of the season under a minute later. Another goal from Kaye with an assist from sophomore Giovanna Raspanti put the Knights ahead by one.
-Arcadia added three more goals from three freshman before the end of the first half. Amanda Diachynsky netted a man-up goal with seven minutes left in the first half. Madison Morabito buried her first goal of the season on a free position shot, and Annabelle Mitchell found the back of the net for another man-up goal, putting Arcadia up 6-3 at the half.
-The Scarlet and Grey opened up the second half on a 6-0 run. Sophomore Emily Covert netted a free position shot, while Imbert completed her hat trick with a goal right outside the crease and a free position goal. Around five minutes later, Kaye found the back of the net on a free position shot to seal her own hat trick.
-Sophomore Hannah McAllister recorded her first goal of the season, finding the back of the net coming across the crease at the 12:50 mark. Morabito tallied her second goal of the night on a free position shot with eight minutes left to play. Despite an Immaculata goal with five minutes left in the game, the Knights secured a strong victory to start off their season.

-Immaculata held the edge over the Knights for ground balls per period, 23-19.
