Fyock Makes 27 Saves, Trio of Knights Net Hat Tricks in Road Win at Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa. - Goalie Timmy Fyock made a single-game, program-record 27 saves on 57 shots faced Wednesday night to lead the Arcadia University men's lacrosse team to its second-straight victory to open the 2020 season, a 16-8 decision over Marywood. Three Knights posted hat tricks in the effort, led by four goals each from Brian Albertsen and Clo Muscara, while Tanner Pajakinas added three of his own.

Brady Manion netted a goal and four assists to tie for the game-high in points with Muscara with five.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights and Pacers played a tightly-contested first quarter to open play Wednesday, as Pajakinas broke the scoreless tie with 2:26 remaining in the quarter with an unassisted score. Marywood answered back with the equalizer less than a minute later, but Jackson Earley's first of two goals on the Knight lifted Arcadia to a one-goal lead after one.

-Earley's second goal of the night less than two minutes into the second quarter set off a string of seven-straight scores in the frame as the Knights took a commanding 9-2 lead into the break. Manion also netted two in the quarter, while Albertsen, Muscara, Pajakinas, and Josh Keitz logged single tallies to carry the Knights to a seven-goal advantage.

-Despite allowing the first goal of the second half in the opening minute, the Knight offense picked up right where it left off by netting four-straight goals to extend their lead to an even 10, 13-3. Ryan Anderson started the scoring with his third goal of his rookie campaign an on assist from Manion before Pajakinas, Albertsen and Muscara added to their totals before the end of the quarter.

-The Pacers totaled a game-high 22 shots in the fourth quarter, but Fyock stood tall in the cage with nine saves and allowed only four goals the rest of the way to pick up his second win in as many games in net to start the season.
