BALTIMORE, Md. - The Arcadia University baseball team fell to No. 14 Johns Hopkins, 13-4, in the final game of their weekend road trip on Sunday afternoon. The Knights will return with a 4-2 record after consecutive three-game road trips.
Justin Massielo homered for the second-straight game and tallied two hits for the Knights. The freshman has recorded a base hit in all six games with a .478 batting average on the season.Â
Noah Cerrud-Osmer went 2-for-2 on the day with one RBI, while
Zak Thomas and
Ryan Bealer drove home the Knights other runs.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Johns Hopkins put the Knights in an early hole with five runs in the first two innings. The Blue Jays scored one run in the opening frame and added four more in the second inning.
- In the third inning, Massielo slugged a two-out home run to left center field to put the Knights on the board, 5-1.
Mitch Blake responded with a scoreless third inning to keep the Knights withinn four runs.
- The Blue Jays put up three runs in the fourth inning, including a two-run home run. Arcadia got a run back in the fifth inning with a RBI ground out from Thomas, 8-2.Â
- Johns Hopkins tallied five runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take a commanding 13-2 lead. After
Danny Castaneda struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth inning, Bealer and Cerrud-Osmer both added RBI singles for the Knights in the ninth.
