Men's Volleyball Edged Out in Back-and-Forth Battle at #2 Springfield

Springfield, MA - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team dropped a tightly-contested battle versus second-ranked Springfield College on Saturday night. Quinn Baily led the Knights' offense with 13 kills, while Dan Paraskevov tallied 12 kills. Austin Braas also put together a strong performance with 11 kills and a team-high three blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Springfield edged out the Knights with a 25-23 victory in the opening set. The match was close the entire way with 10 ties throughout the set and neither team leading by more than three points. After the Knights pulled within one point late, the Pride clinched the set on a Arcadia service error.

- The Knights rallied back with a 25-18 victory in the second set. Arcadia gained separation with a late 4-0 run to take a 21-16 lead. After two quick points from Springfield, Arcadia closed out the set with four unanswered points following a timeout. 

- The Pride put pressure on the Knights with another narrow victory in the third set, 25-22, which saw three lead changes and 14 ties. Late in the stanza, the Knights regained the lead with consecutive kills from Paraskevov and Jarod Pichler, 21-20, but surrendered a 5-2 run to end the set. 

- Springfield won the final set, 29-27, to clinch victory over the Knights. The Knights set the tone early, jumping out to an 8-5 lead, but allowed the Pride to capture momentum with five unanswered points. Later in the set, Arcadia regained the lead with a 6-2 run, which gave the Knights an 18-17 lead and forced the Pride to call a timeout. The Knights had four chances to close out the game, but eventually allowed Springfield to end the game with three unanswered points.
