FREDERICK, Md. - The Arcadia University women's swimming program opened the 2021-22 season at the Huntsinger Aquatic Center as the Knights took on Hood College, returning to dual meet action for the first time in nearly a year and a half. The Knights showed their depth throughout the meet, racking up a total of 19 valuable second and third place finishes.
Starting out the meet in the 200-yd medley relay, the foursome of
Grace Brooks,
Risa Krauss,
Olivia Hyde, and
Hannah Daniels cruised to victory in a total time of 1:57.69. The next big event for the Knights was the 20yd individual medley which resulted in a resounding 1-2-3-5 finish provided by Krauss,
Kira Alderman,
Madelyn Meyer and
Emma Kury.
In the following event, the 100-yd butterfly, Arcadia swam to another top finish with
Olivia Hyde winning the race in 1:03.54, followed by teammate Nikki Belber in second with a time of 1:08.01.
Additional victories on the afternoon came from
Grace Brooks in the 100-yd backstroke (1:01.80) and Krauss in the 100-yd breaststroke (1:12.26).
The Knights return to action on Oct. 15 when they travel to Division II West Chester University.
