HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of challenging matchups versus #1 Johns Hopkins University, 3-0, and Haverford College, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.
Michelle Frank led the Knights offense with 26 combined kills in seven sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights dropped a tightly-contested opening set to Johns Hopkins. The Knights stunned the undefeated Jays with a 7-0 run at the start of the opening set to take an 11-6 lead. Frank helped lead Arcadia's run with two service aces during the squad's opening stretch. The Knights later added on to its early lead with four unanswered points, which included two
Nicole Dallara kills, to jump out to a 16-10 lead. However, the Jays battled back with a 13-2 run to close the set and capture a 25-20 set victory.
- The Jays claimed another victory with a 25-11 decision in the second set. The Knights kept the game close early in the set, but surrendered 10 unanswered points to fall behind, 17-5.
- Johns Hopkins captured the final set to defeat the Knights. The Jays took an early lead, before Frank slowed down their momentum with three-straight kills. Frank ended the set with five kills, but the Jays proved to be too much as they closed the game with a 25-14 set victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights won the opening battle after a tightly-contested first set, which featured six lead changes and 11 ties. Arcadia gained some separation midway through the contest with a Frank kill and back-to-back aces from
Estefanía Martínez-Solá to take a 14-11 lead. Later in the set, the Knights captured a critical point on a kill from Dallara to tie the game at 24-24. The Knights went on to claim a narrow 27-25 win.
- Haverford gained momentum early in the set with 6-0 and 5-0 runs, respectively. The Knights struggled to string together multiple points and they dropped the second set, 25-13.
- The Knights took an early 3-1 advantage with kills from Frank and Dallara to open the third set. The Fords then put together a 7-1 run to put themselves in control, 10-6. Arcadia was unable to sustain a consistent attack as they fell, 25-15.
- Arcadia jumped out to an early lead with four unanswered points in the fourth set. Then after falling behind 17-14 later in the set, the Knights strung together four more unanswered points to take a 18-17 advantage. However, the Fords captured victory with an 8-2 run to close the final stanza.
