DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's soccer team came away with a 2-0 victory Friday afternoon at Delaware Valley to cap the 2021 season as senior Morgan Giordano netted her first goal of the season in her final game as a Knight. Madison Toyama assisted on the tally and Gabby Green made a pair of second-half saves to preserve the shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights had a flurry of chances on net in the opening 45 minutes of the game - totaling nine shots - but DelVal came up with four saves to keep Arcadia off the board in the early going. In the final four minutes of the first half, Michaella Merklin fired a shot on goal that glanced off the crossbar to solidify the tie at halftime.

-Arcadia brought the same offensive pressure in the second half - getting off eight shots before the Aggies had an opportunity - while the eighth of which found the back of the net in the 73rd minute off the foot of Giordano on an assist from Toyama. The score was Giordano's first of the year in her final game as a Knight.

-The Knights put the game away in the 87th minute with their second tally of the half while Gabby Green made two saves to preserve the shutout in the 2021 season finale.
