Men's Ice Hockey Drops Opening Game of Terry Moran Invitational to Franklin Pierce, 2-0

RUTLAND, Vt. - The Arcadia University men's ice hockey program opened play in the Terry Moran Invitational Friday night at Castleton State, falling to Franklin Pierce in the opening game of the two-day event, 2-0. Franklin Pierce netted a pair of second period goals to come away with the victory despite 15 saves in net from Lucas Brine.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights had their share of shots on net in the opening period but were unable to break through with the game's first goal as Franklin Pierce goaltender Kyle Martin came up with seven saves to keep the two sides scoreless at the first intermission.

-Moments after an Arcadia power play kill, Franklin Pierce broke the scoreless tie with the game's first goal just under six minutes into the second period. Nearly ten minutes later, Franklin Pierce doubled its lead with its second goal of the period.

-Arcadia was unable to cut into the deficit the rest of the way as the Ravens held the two-goal advantage for the remainder of the second and third periods, resulting in the 2-0 defeat.
