Field Hockey Falls Short in MAC Freedom Semifinals at Stevens

HOBOKEN, NJ - The Arcadia University field hockey team dropped a hard-fought battle against top-seeded Stevens, 3-1, in the MAC Freedom Semifinals on Wednesday night. Morgan McEntire tallied the Knights lone goal, while Gracie Fenner made three saves for the Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stevens jumped out to an early lead with the game's first goal in the seventh minute. The Ducks connected on a one-timer after tipping a shot to the top-right corner of the cage. Arcadia had two early opportunities off penalty corners, but were outshot 4-3 in the opening stanza.

- The Knights tied up the game in the 25th minute with an equalizer from McEntire. The first-year standout lifted the ball into the top-right corner to beat the Ducks goaltender. The scoring opportunity was set up by a Mickie March penalty corner.

- The Ducks retook the lead with a goal midway through the third period. Following a penalty corner, the Ducks put back a rebound for their second tally of the evening. Moments later, McEntire nearly connected with another game-tying goal, but had the attempt stopped by a defensive save.

- Stevens added an insurance goal early in the fourth quarter to take a two goal lead, 3-1. The Knights had a couple of chances towards the end of the stanza, but couldn't find the back of the cage.
