Varrato and Tittelmayer Earn All-Region Status, Varrato Becomes Program’s First All-Region Goalkeeper

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's soccer team earned two United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections, announced Monday night. Jake Varrato received first-team honors as a goalkeeper, while Daniel Tittelmayer garnered second-team status as a forward.

The duo became the first men's soccer players to earn all-region recognition since Bradley McKim garnered third-team recognition in 2015. The selections also marked the second time in program history where two or more Knights earned all-region status in the same season. The last time the men's soccer program had multiple all-region selections in one season was 2004 when they had four selections.

Varrato made history by becoming the program's first all-region goalkeeper - dating back to 2000. The Knights keeper was also the first all-region first-team recipient since Andrew Plunkett in 2006.

Jake Varrato - All-Region First-team
After becoming the program's first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Year recipient, Varrato adds another accomplishment to his impressive resume with his first career all-region selection.  Varrato captained an Arcadia defense that held opponents to a conference-best 0.50 goals per game in conference play. The senior led the MAC Freedom with a 0.493 goals against average and .862 save percentage during conference play. Varrato helped lead his squad to the top seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament with a 6-2 record and four shutouts versus conference foes. The goalkeeper also earned his second career all-conference first-team selection in 2021.

Daniel Tittelmayer - All-Region Second-team
The Knights playmaker capped off an impressive senior campaign with his first career all-region selection. Tittelmayer was one of the conference's top playmakers in 2021 - earning all-conference first-team recognition for the first time in his career. The talented ball handler led the conference with seven assists, while also tallying four goals on the season. The senior ended the season tied for the most points on the team, while recording career-highs in points, goals and assists.
