COLMAR, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's ice hockey program fell to Stevenson in Saturday's UCHC matchup, 3-0. The Knights outshot the Mustangs, 33-32, but were unable to break through offensively while
Fletcher Bolda made 29 saves in net.
Stevenson received 17 votes in the latest NCAA Division III rankings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Mustangs netted their first goal just over a minute into play to take the early advantage, but Bolda largely kept them in check from that point on as Stevenson was held scoreless up until the halfway point of the third period. The Knights had their share of chances on net in the opening period but Stevenson goalkeeper Ryan Kenny fended off all of their shots on net.
-Following a scoreless second period, the Mustangs took advantage of a five-on-three opportunity to net their second goal of the game just over seven minutes into play. Arcadia had a power play of its own late in the third and pulled Bolda from the net to add an extra skater, but Stevenson ended up netting its third and final tally on an empty net to seal the 3-0 victory.
