DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Da'Kquan Davis' game-high 31 points - 29 of which were scored in the second half alone - paced the Arcadia University men's basketball team in its second-straight victory to open the 2021 season Friday night at Delaware Valley, 81-76. D.J. Gardner followed with 13 points off the bench and was a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc in the effort as the Knights shot 52.1 percent (25-48) from the field to cap off the first week of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights opened up the game with a 7-2 run to take the lead early in the first half and kept the momentum going behind Gardner's 13 points while going perfect from beyond the arc. Despite leading by double figures with just under six minutes remaining, Arcadia held off a late Aggie charge to head into the locker room with a two-point lead, 35-33.
-The Knights and Aggies matched each other shot for shot to open the second half as both teams traded blows. However, the Knights rode the back of Davis who helped guide a 13-6 run to vault the Knights to an eight-point lead with just over two minutes left in regulation, 74-66.
-Arcadia remained dominant to close out its second win of the 2021 season as Davis scored 29 of his 31 points in the second half alone to propel the Knights to the 81-76 road victory.
