Men's Basketball Falls to DeSales on the Road

Center Valley , Pa. - The Arcadia University men's basketball team's second quarter heroics fell short as the Knights fell to undefeated DeSales University, 78-71, on Friday night.

Da'Kquan Davis led the team in scoring with 24 points, five rebounds and two assists. Gabe Kier was also in double digits for the second-straight night with a season-high 12 points. JoHaan Vinson made his presence felt with 11 points, while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line in 13 minutes off the bench. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arcadia started out the game hot after a deep three-pointer from Jacob Walsh gave the Knights a quick seven-point lead, 9-2. Arcadia kept the pressure on the Bulldogs as both teams battled back-and-forth with the Knights hitting four threes in the first six minutes of the contest. DeSales bounced back quickly, however, going on a 18-5 run to close out the half with a 10-point advantage, 37-27.

- Arcadia opened the second half with a 12-6 run, propelled by Davis who netted three baskets in a row to pull the Knights within four points, 39-35. Both teams traded buckets over the next few possessions, before DeSales pushed their lead back to 10 points with 10:27 remaining .

- Justin Money capped off a late 8-4 run with a pair of free throws to cut the Knights deficit to just five points, 57-52. However, DeSales quickly regained momentum with a three-pointer and were able to hold off the Knights second half surge.

TEAM COMPARISON
- The Knights won the three-point battle, hitting six from deep, while limiting the Bulldogs to just two three-pointers. 
- DeSales outperformed the Knights from the field, shooting 49.2 percent, while Arcadia shot 43.6 percent.
- The Bulldogs won the battle down low, outscoring the Knights 56-28 in the paint, while holding a 43-25 edge in rebounding.
