Women's Basketball Drops Regular Season Finale at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's basketball team fell at Widener University, 71-52, to finish off the regular season with a 6-4 record. Taylor Fritz led the way for the Knights, scoring 13 points with three rebounds and two steals. Scarlett Glasser-Nehls also scored 13 points along with a team-high four assists, while Julia Makowski finished the night with a double-double for 11 points and 10 boards. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Holly Daveski and Fritz led the charge for the Knights, scoring five points a piece in the first quarter as they fueled an 8-0 run to open up the contest. However, Widener would battle its way back to take the lead at the end of the opening quarter, 18-16.

- The Pride carried momentum into the second quarter, going on a 13-8 run to take a seven-point lead with 4:57 remaining in the half. The Knights answered back by closing out the stanza on a 6-1 run, 33-30, with buckets from Makowski, Glasser-Nehls and Maria Tully.

- Both teams went back-and-forth to open up the second half. Glasser-Nehls shrunk the Knights deficit to three points with an acrobatic layup to bring the score to 44-41 with 2:17 remaining. The Knights would head into the final quarter down three points after a jumper from Fritz, 52-49.

- The Pride's offense would be too much to overcome in the final quarter as the squad put together a 19-3 run to close out the contest.
